ಗುರು ಯಾರು—ಸನಾತನ ಧರ್ಮವು ಗುರುವನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ?
ಗುರು ಕೇವಲ ಆರಾಧಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲ. ಸತ್ಯಗುರು ಗೊಂದಲವನ್ನು ದೂರಮಾಡಿ, ಪರಿಶೀಲಿತ ಜ್ಞಾನದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ವಿವೇಕ, ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಬದುಕಲು ಶಿಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

The Guru helps knowledge become lived understanding
In Bhagavad Gita 4.34, the seeker is asked to approach those who know truth through humility, sincere inquiry and service. Hindu traditions honour many forms of guidance: parents and first teachers, vidya-gurus, mantra-gurus, acharyas, lineage heads and the inner Guru-principle.

Look for scriptural competence, ethical conduct, patience with questions, transparent stewardship and respect for family duties. Step back from coercion, secrecy used to hide harm, fear-based predictions, sexual misconduct, demands to abandon medical care or pressure for uncontrolled money and loyalty.
